"Happy Holidays" Peppermint Candy

Materials:

  • Red and green peppermint candy
  • Clear acrylic spray
  • 16-ounce jar with lid
  • Clear mylar or plastic
  • 2 3/4" round metal mold
  • Premium wax
  • Glass-fill wax
  • Wick
  • Peppermint candle scent
  • 24" of 3/8" Red sheer ribbon

Tip:
Remove candy wrappers. Spray candy with acrylic to seal.

Instructions:

  1. Place candle in center of jar. If candle is too wide or tall, shave away excess. Mold 2 3/4"
  2. diameter x 2 1/2" tall candle for 16-ounce jar. Mold 2 3/4" diameter x 3" tall candle for 26 ounce jar. Leave wick extra long and trim after wax is poured in jar.
  3. Place items to be embedded into jar against glass.
  4. Melt Glass-Fill wax and add dye and scent. Pour wax into jar covering top of filler candle with 1/2" or more of wax. Save 1/2 cup of wax. If needed, use craft stick to reposition items.
  5. When candle cools, fill depression with remaining hot wax.
  6. Pry plastic gasket from jar lid. Cut a mylar or plastic circle to fit edge of lid. Fill lid with the same items embedded in candle. Place mylar circle on edge of lid. Replace gasket.
